Philosophy of Logic, Mathematics, and Games
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Maine. I attended Columbia University for my Ph.D. and Williams College for my undergraduate degree, and I was previously a VAP at Bucknell University from 2019-2021. My primary interests are within philosophy of logic/mathematics and ancient philosophy, although my work is deeply influenced by my interests in American pragmatism, the philosophy of games, and the history of mathematics. My current research work has been focused on developing a pragmatist epistemology of logic and on questions about the value of games in reasoning.
As a first-generation college student, I also have a deep commitment to inclusive pedagogy and to making philosophy accessible. I was previously a Lead Teaching Fellow within the Columbia philosophy department, where I served as a point of contact between the department and the Columbia Center for Teaching and Learning, as well as a Teaching Scholar for the academic year 2016-2017. My dissertation was completed under a Mellon/ACLS dissertation completion fellowship for the 2018-2019 academic year.
